About This Site

That's me in Peru in 2006. The whole time we were there, Peruvian girls wanted to take their pictures with me and Joel. This was the best of the bunch. And yes, I did like that hat. A lot.
First, some background. I’ve been maintaining this site for a while now, but I am definitely one of those bloggers who falls off the wagon. For example, It’s July 5, 2009. I just noticed I hadn’t updated this page since 2005. yikes! So if you like what you see here and notice I haven’t written in awhile, feel free to let me know that I’m being lazy and I should get back to updating.
Things you should know: I have never wanted to publish an online journal of my deepest thoughts or feelings and that is not what this is. I will post a piece about things I do in my “real” life, but they won’t be uber-persona. So no need to worry, you won’t get a bunch of melodramatic “journaling” here.
So what do I do here? Well read and find out. But in short, it is a place for me to tell you about interesting things I do in my life. This might be writing about an art event, a trip to Alabama to see my sister, or gardening. Sometimes I will comment on the things I find important in the world (see wads of posts about the 2008 election).
I also spend a lot of time online and go through spurts of posting links to funny, interesting or important (to me) sites as well as videos.
In other words, since this is my spot online, I don’t focus it in any one direction since my life is not terribly focused either. Whose is?
If you’re interested in talking back, please do. I love comments and emails. You can also find me on Twitter (@cmonster) or Facebook.
